The problem of sexually transmitted diseases has always been an object of serious discussions. Many people, especially young ones, are not completely aware of the sexually transmitted diseases and the effects they may have on their health. Still, these diseases may cause not only sexual health problems, but also various harmful skin infections. Among the most known sexually transmitted diseases are the following ones: Chlamydia, Human Papillomavirus, Trichomoniasis, AIDS, Gonorrhea, Herpes and some other. However, not all of the above mentioned diseases threaten our skin health. We’ll concentrate on those which affect our skin.

Among the sexually transmitted diseases that lead to skin infections and cause people’s sexual health concerns are Human Papillomavirus and Herpes. Human Papillomavirus is considered to be one of the most common of those diseases. Still, not all the types of it are sexually transmitted. In fact, three out of four people may have the concealed low-risk form of Human Papillomavirus. It is not really dangerous for them and the only symptoms may be small papillomas on people’s skin, appearing from time to time.

One more common skin infection that may be caused by sexually transmitted diseases is Herpes. As soon as you get this infection, it will stay in your body for life. Under some conditions its symptoms arise and then disappear to come later. A herpetic infection may infect either genital area or the oral area and sometimes even both of them depending on the conditions. Skin health canters sites describe such symptoms of the disease as open sores on the skin, pain, itching, harsh swelling, painful urination etc. depending on the area infected.
