Pictured is David Chandler one of the founders of Lend a Hand (LAH) receiving a plaque of appreciation from Paul Bartlett ASF Chair 2006.

Lend a Hand is a non profit organization set up to help families who just need someone to Lend a Hand. The organization was founded by a few employees of JPI Partners, a national real estate firm with a regional office located in San Diego. LAH major fundraiser is their annual charity golf tournament. This year’s tournament will be held at Temecula Creek Inn on April 6th. For more information regarding this tournament call Debbie Wilson 858 458-1200 x 124.

The last 3 years LAH has distribute donations in access of $75,000 to families and other respected non-profits. Past beneficiary of LAH donations have been The Angela Spence Foundation, The Polansky Center, San Diego Teen Shelter, Voices for Children, Metro Youth Ministry and the San Diego Crisis Center. Along with these charities during the holidays LAH has donated directly to worthy families with special needs. Without LAH these families would not be able to have a very Merry Christmas.

Dave Chandler is a Biggs chapter member and a member of the chapters Road Guard program. Chandler family philanthropic giving and helping others doesn’t start and finish with Dave. His wife Julie quilted a beautiful quilt which she donated to the ASF for a silent action that netted a final bid of $1000. This quilt is proudly displayed at Biggs HD in San Marcos.

ASF is deeply thankful to have angels such as the Chandler family and the Lend A Hand organization. Thank you for all you do…

Mike Lindsay presenting the Heart Ride Team cash, checks and credit cards receipts from Big Game Party. Angela Spence Foundation and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society both received a little over $4000 in proceeds from the event. The HR team also sold $600 worth of opportunity tickets at the event.

This was the first joint endeavor between the LLS and the ASF. Mark Anderson and Jenn Pando from Premier Foods who hosted the event have invited us back to participate at next years Big Game Party. Review the event pictures under the Gallery Tab on this web page. A big thank you to all that was involved, this was an incredible event that I’m sure will grow in popularity.

San Diego County Credit Union is a very welcome and supportive corporate sponsor of Heart Ride for the past 3 years. They proudly show case various Heart Ride events during the year, including participating as a vendor at our main Heart Ride event at the end of the fund raising year.

Pictured above are Stephanie Winsjansen and Therese Tran, management team of the San Diego County Credit Union, San Marcos Branch.

Quote from Stephanie Winsjansen: “It gives us great pleasure to work with the other Heart Ride volunteers along with Biggs Harley-Davidson & Buell to do all we can for the Angela Spence Foundation”.

The past four years Lesli and Marc Collins of American Bobcat & Backhoe Service, Inc. have been Heart Ride corporate sponsors. Along with holding key lead position roles in support of Heart Ride they both have held equally as important key roles inside the officer core of the Biggs Chapter North San Diego County Harley Owners Group.

In 2004 Lesli, Marc and Bill Turney were in charge of the Heart Ride end location team and vendor setup. Anyone associated with the 2004 event will tell you, this was the smoothest end location and vendor set up in the history of Heart Ride. We look forward to our continuing relationship with American Bobcat and Backhoe Service, Inc.

Corporate sponsors Doug and Jan Farris owners of Ferris Communications located in San Marcos

Both Doug and Jan have been corporate sponsors and have held key volunteers positions within the Heart Ride team since 2000.  Their volunteer work does not start or end with Heart Ride.  They both have held key positions within the Biggs Chapter North San Diego County Harley Owners Group for the past four years and give time to several other San Marcos community sponsored events throughout the year. Their true enthusiasm towards the community and their family culture is an inspiration to all of us.

Paul Bartlett Heart Ride Chair 2006 receiving a $5000 corporate donation check from Sam Hamood of Digital Documents (http://www.d-docs.com).

This is Digital Documents 3rd year as a major corporate sponsor of the Angela Spence Foundation and the 2nd year they held the Heart Ride Technology Sponsor position. Not only has Digital Documents provided ASF their 36 years of combined expertise in the field of image and document management, but they and Michael Donnellan (http://www.michaeldonnellan.com) develop and maintain the Heart Ride web site. Their confidence and enthusiasm regarding their financial and emotional support of the ASF is an inspiration to our volunteers and other corporate sponsors.

The ASF is very grateful to have Digital Documents, Sam Hamood, Pierre van der Westhuizen and Steve Young as a corporate sponsor and a friend of Heart Ride.
